Mount Kirishima Continues To Erupt in Japan. The Japanese Volcano Eruption Has Produced Some Startling Images. Here is Some Mount Kirishima Video and Photos

Mount Kirishima in Japan continues to erupt. Mount Kirishima has been spewing plumes of smoke more than 2,000 metres into the sky.

The Japan volcano eruption at Mt. Kirishima has forced evacuations of the surrounding area. Ash has fallen on the cities of Miyazaki and Nichinan in Miyazaki Prefecture, and has closed some roads in Kyushu.

Volcanic ash has caused disruptions air and train travel in the area.

Mount Kirishima is often referred to as the "James Bond volcano" because of its part in the "You Only Live Twice." The Japanese volcano served as the secret base of villain Ernst Blofeld.

The Mt. Kirishima volcano has also produced some amazing images and video. The Japanese volcano has produced volcanic lightning also known as a 'dirty thunderstorm.'
