A mountain biker ripping up the trail

You can easily see how rough mountain biking is on the trails. Mountain biking is akin to motocross/motorized dirt biking. If BC Parks and other public land authorities feel that recreational ATV's and and other motorized off-road vehicles are very damaging to the environment, we have to question if those very authorities are just being willfully blind to the damage "mechanized vehicles" (mountain bikes) are wreaking on the natural environment and trails inside parks, public forest land, etc. for reasons posed in the article.
