Nashville Weather news: severe thunderstorm warning today

The latest Nashville Weather news is that a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the areas of eastern Davidson Country, such as Nashville, eastern Robertson County and northwestern Rutherford County, Sumner County, Gallatin, western Wilson County and northeastern Williamson County.

At 2:12 p.m. National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing penny size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Goodlettsville, or 12 miles north of Nashville, and moving east at 40 mph.

A tornado may develop and all residents are being warned that if they see a tornado, to move into a safe zone in your house or to a sturdy structure as quickly as possible.
