Two Tornadoes Hit North Platte, Nebraska

Two tornadoes hit the North Platte, Nebraska area on the night of March 18, 2012. The tornadoes ripped through homes and businesses, tearing down power lines and even flipping over 15 rail cars in the Bailey Yard, operated by Union Pacific.

So far, there have been only two reported injuries from the Nebraska tornadoes.

The pockets of unseasonable warm weather have kicked off tornado season early, with tornadoes also reported in Oklahoma (see the video below, from Storm Chaser Videos).

Parts of Oklahoma and Texas are under tornado watch on March 19, with Arkansas and Louisiana also facing severe weather.
