The Los Alamos National Laboratory was built to withstand abuse: it's where the the atomic bomb was developed. Still, it is host to plenty of radioactive and other sensitive materials, so locals are looking for reassurance that the New Mexico wildfires won't become something worse.

Los Alamos National Research Lab is home to a particle accelerator as well as nuclear weapons materials, and is considered a top-level national security asset.
