Clark, who attended the 53-member summit, issued a statement saying a declaration on climate change made a "strong contribution to addressing the problem of global greenhouse gas emissions."
She said the so-called "Lake Victoria Climate Change Action Plan" made it clear that all countries had a role to play in reducing the emissions, which are blamed for global warming.
Clark, who has declared climate change and creating an environmentally-friendly sustainable economy key targets of her Labour Party-led coalition, said it was the third major international meeting in the last three months that had climate change as a central theme.
