All too often is the Black Bear portrayed in the media as a lovable, cuddly, victimized species, and I think it is about time to look outside the window and smell the bear poop! I was a victim of a bear attack and lived, not only to tell the tale, but to put the bear back in its place and encourage the reinstatement of the spring bear hunt in Northern Ontario, Canada. Here's my terrifying experience with a black bear.

Orato, I like this story. It's good stuff.  We have black bears on Vancouver Is. and while they generally don't cause trouble, when people get careless with their garbage, etc., they do become dangerous nuisances.  Every year some are shot in N. Vancouver because of it.  Our local gov't has instituted a new garbage system that concentrates organic waste in plastic bins.  I'm just waiting for the bears to discover them.
