UBC lab is ‘trying to create something that doesn’t exist anywhere else’

From the Victory gardens of the last century’s two world wars to the community-garden movement started in the 1970s, urban agriculture has played an important role in the security of the food supply.

The group has proposed that North Vancouver allow food to be planted along the city's boulevards.   It is great to see this kind of initiative.

Great idea - there's so much wasted space (and water-greedy lawns!)

It is a great idea, so much space that could be utilized.Someone needs to be designated to take care of the garden, watering, weeding, etc.Otherwise it will be tabooed in no time.
