The name "right whale" came about because whalers thought they were the right whale to kill due to their high blubber content that caused them to float after death. They are now considered to be the rarest large whale in the world with perhaps as few at 300 in the North Atlantic. "Digibinoced" on our Bay of Fundy pelagic trip.
