NSS camp on disaster management concludes
MUSSOORIE, 30 Dec: The 7 day NSS Camp on Disaster Management held in Mussoorie Inter College concluded with the distribution of prizes by the Chief Guest on the occasion, Mussoorie MLA Jot Singh Gunsola.
The students also exhibited various articles learned under the self-employment projects in these seven days. The students made pickles and candles of various kinds at the camp. The NSS students also presented a skit on disaster management awareness. They also shared their experiences about the training held at the camp.
Women from BPL families around Mussoorie also attended the camp and were extremely glad to learn how to make candles and pickles.
Deveshwari Arya said on the occasion that the camp was informative and now they could sustain themselves by selling these products in the market from their homes. Alvina Joseph, Hendry and Parag, the coordinators of the project being run under the aegis of EHA, Landour Community Hospital, said that the training imparted at the camp on Disaster Management would go a long way towards serving the people and the students should teach others also in this regard.
NSS holds Health Camp at Girls’ College in Mussoorie
MUSOORIE, 28 Dec: Eighty persons were provided a free check up at a health camp conducted under the aegis of NSS Mussoorie in association with Operation Blessing and Community Hospital, Landour.
The residents were identified by the NSS students of Mussoorie Girls’ Inter College, earlier, and brought to the camp. Dr Binu Alexander from Landour Community Hospital performed a thorough check-up and provided medicines courtesy Operation Blessing, Hyderabad, free of cost. The Coordinator from the Community Hospital, Alvina Joseph, said that the hospital was assigned 4 schools of Mussoorie and regular health camps were being organised regularly.
