Several homes have also burned, five facing Ocean Pathway and two facing Bath Avenue, but no one was injured in the fire and everyone managed to get out safely.

Michael Bascom, the deputy emergency coordinator for Neptune Township told the Press:

"When we arrived scene in very heavy wind, the Manchester and the house just west of it were fully involved," Bascom said.

Wind was the biggest factor in the fire and the constant winds are making it difficult to put the blaze out.

"Our greatest fear was that we'd lose the Camp Meeting Association and all the tents," which lie just one block west, he said. "We had embers shooting over great distances."

The fire has been contained to a single block however and although there have been a few minor injuries including smoke inhalation and particles in peoples' eyes, but no fatalities. Fire officials are still checking if anyone is missing however.

It is not known at this point how the fire started but officials are investigating.
