A 4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Struck Oklahoma Just After 9am on Wednesday October 13

According to the United States Geological Survey, the 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck at a depth of 5km, about 10km east of Norman Oklahoma.

Tulsa World is reporting that people said they could feel the earthquake from as far away as Lawton, north to Bartlesville and south to the Red River.

No serious injuries or damages have been reported so far, but police are asking people not to call 911 unless it is a dire emergency, or if you have serious damage to report.

"It came in loud and strong on all of our seismic stations and we are checking all of our equipment now," said Randy Keller, director at the Oklahoma Geological Survey.

Students at the University of Oklahoma felt the buildings shake and reports have been coming in from all around the state.

Did you feel the earthquake?

I thought so! About maybe within an hour or two ago, I was sitting on the couch watching Netflix, and I felt and heard the house move for a couple seconds. I asked my husband who was in the kitchen cleaning up if he felt anything, he said no. I thought it was odd because I heard the housetop make a sound as if hit or brushed upon with a strong wind. Didn't cause any alarm until my Netflix was acting up. It kept giving me error messages and so I thought something definitely is happening due to the digital/eletronic connection failures I was having with the tv. Then I hopped on the computer to google, "oklahoma earthquake 2010", to find this site. It confirmed my initial suspicion that it might have been an earthquake! Wow. Cool.. What to do from here is kinda scary...God bless everyone, and hope nothing serious happened. Take care all!

Two others and I felt the building move slightly on the 2nd floor of an office building at about 9:06 a.m. in Carrollton, TX - about 175 miles south of the quake.  It only lasted about a second or two.  Having been in a few earthquakes in the Phillipines in the Air Force, I knew right away what it was.  Weird that we felt it so far south.

I'm in Stillwater and I felt it. It was barely noticeable, I just thought someone was pushing on the other side of my cubicle until I realized I felt it under my feet too.
