a happy little calf, midmorning out of the Bay of Cabo San Lucas. Didn't see or hear any on the subsequent dives, but we stayed within the bay most of the time...

And now, the rant:
Why would someone want to murder these gentle, graceful creatures? There is zero economic need, and the cultural rationale is pure nostalgia. The advancement of human society requires that we continually collectively analyze our behavior, and modify it based on new information.
"Whaling" is unnecessary, and cruel. This is the cold fact of the matter.
