Those who are not familiar of the British Railway (Railroad) system. Back in the mid-1960s a Dr Beeching was hired by the British Government at the time , to axe thousands of miles of Branch Lines which took in little village and hamlets and most had their own dedicated stations. Milton of Campsie Station was one of the stations that were closed BEFORE this devastation of our rail system. It was closed to passenger services in 1951 and freight traffic around 1964.
