Refill the Ozone layer

The Ozone is configured of 3 oxygen molekules O3. After destruction of Ozone by chlorine or bromine (agent form US agriculture to protect plants) the Oxygen did not disappear, it is separeted 3 x oxygen. To redo Ozone by Ozone producing laser satellites, the remaining oxygen recombine under "laser needeling to O3 Ozone. Ozone repair estimated $50bn program.

The Ozon layer acts as a sunlight filter, shielding life on Earth from harmful ultraviolet rays that put humans at greater risk of skin cancer and cataracts and harm marine life. The Ultraviolet rays and cosmic rays passing through the ozone hole reach 50 meters into ocean water burning the skin of Fish, forcing the fish out of the nutrition zone. The second effect is shock heating of ocean water or antarctic ice by reflected UV rays

The ozone hole over Antarctica in 2008 is larger in both size and ozone loss than last year, but not as large as in 2006, the European Space Agency said Tuesday.

Depletion of ozone is caused by extreme cold temperatures at high altitude and the presence of ozone-destroying gases, such as chlorine and bromine, in the atmosphere, the ESA said. Ozone is a protective atmospheric layer found at an altitude of about 25 kilometers (15.5 mls).

thanks amyjudd, actually the ozone hole increased and will stay the next 50 years to destroy plants people with cancer, trees die from the racines.."The ozone hole over Antarctica in 2008 is larger in both size and ozone loss than last year, NASA statement.

But doesn't it say 'not as big as in 2006'? That's why I was a bit confused.

Well now we are at the heart of the problem: it is not a hole like in a tire. Better we should say Ozone layer deplation (who likes this term ?) It is a rotating moving swinging object with no concrete borderlines. All what I can repeat it increased 2008 surprisingly compared to 2007 ( uploaded image ). We and naturally the tourists now, know about the swinging ozone hole (or deplation) at the riviera. Sun factor 30 instead of 15 before, or int'l on your little UV indicator, the UV factor raised from 7 to 11 (Australia value), can go down to 9 next year. The fluctuation is not yet explained. However all local TVs give the UV factor now, say avoid sun bathing if over 7. A new indicator are tomatoe plants, yes the leaves dry out or burn brown if UV is over 7. For example my tomatoes at the window stop growing in August now ( UV=10) restart in october to get green and survive even december (we have no snow). The challenge is to close or refill the ozone layer for the generation to come. We can not expect from the emerging countries entering middle class any responsible environment behaviour. The answer is Geo-engineering or terra forming, the business for NASA / ESA to come. We should not wait until others start unqualified experiments themselves. If we don't act they will for sure follow the plan: First pollute, then repair, but what repair ?

This year’s ozone hole over Antarctica is 5th biggest on record

NEW YORK — NASA says this year’s ozone hole over Antarctica is the fifth biggest on record, reaching a maximum area of 27.2 million square kilometres in September.

That’s considered "moderately large," according to NASA atmospheric scientist Paul Newman.

NASA has tracked the size of the hole for 30 years.

It might be noted that the ozone hole before 30 years ago is an unknown. It might have existed in its present size for billions of years and might have been far bigger before that.

Fairbanks, I really don't understand the Americans always downplaying the disaster that caused the Carbon and car industry. It's really mad to see the people UV burning and listen to such paid science junk finding out the heavenly father wants us any way to go to hell, let's pollute and make a prayer that our neighbour will die and not us.

This is what we call in Europe insufficient social Intelligence,

hope it has finally gone with the bush administration.
