Ozone hole grows in 2008

But doesn't it say 'not as big as in 2006'? That's why I was a bit confused.

Well now we are at the heart of the problem: it is not a hole like in a tire. Better we should say Ozone layer deplation (who likes this term ?) It is a rotating moving swinging object with no concrete borderlines. All what I can repeat it increased 2008 surprisingly compared  to 2007 ( uploaded image ). We and naturally the tourists now, know about the swinging ozone hole (or deplation) at the riviera. Sun factor 30 instead of 15 before, or int'l on your little UV indicator, the UV factor raised from 7 to 11 (Australia value), can go down to 9 next year. The fluctuation is not yet explained. However all local TVs give the UV factor now, say avoid sun bathing if over 7. A new indicator are tomatoe plants, yes the leaves dry out or burn brown if UV is over 7. For example my tomatoes at the window stop growing in August now ( UV=10) restart in october to get green and survive even december (we have no snow). The challenge is to close or refill the ozone layer for the generation to come. We can not expect from the emerging countries entering middle class any responsible environment behaviour. The answer is Geo-engineering or terra forming, the business for NASA / ESA to come. We should not wait until others start unqualified experiments themselves. If we don't act they will for sure follow the plan: First pollute, then repair, but what repair ?

It might be noted that the ozone hole before 30 years ago is an unknown.  It might have existed in its present size for billions of years and might have been far bigger before that.
