I took this photo in the University of California, Davis Arboretum. Note the pollen on her leg. Bumblebees, like honey bees, are declining in population. Dr. Robbin Thorp of UC Davis is investigating the disappearance of Franklin's bumblebee, found only in southern Oregon and northern California.
