I spent today birding with a mate out at the Western Treatment Plant at Werribee, getting 80 species for the day including 4 new species for me: Pectoral Sandpiper, Little Egret, Bar-tailed Godwit and Great Knot. The WTP is one of the best birding spots in Australia with 270 species having been recorded there, around one third of Australia's total bird species.
25 January 2007.

I was lucky enough to see one of these amazing birds at the Western Treatment Plant at Werribee, Victoria, Australia on 25 January 2007. The Treatment Plant is adjacent to Port Phillip Bay and many waders visit the area over our Summer.
