PLAYA PAMILLA

Los Cabos, Mexico .- A group of citizens of Los Cabos, has decided to protest because the developer of One & Only Palmilla, intends to take  the North beach of Puerto Palmilla.

It’s Colectivo de Resistencia Pericú, a  collective group of resistance comprising 50 native families, who are protesting the privatization of beaches in this resort

This beach is the longest tradition for local families, and it is the space of fishermen for over 50 years. Many of these fishermen were born there.

The new owner of One & Only Palmilla is Khalid bin Mahfouz, whose family has been connected with investigations of money laundering and financing of Islamic terrorist groups.

Through the Palmilla San José Inmobiliaria, Khalid bin Mahfouz purchased from the Mexican government Palmilla’s north beach, just the place where the traditional fishermen of Los Cabos are.

This was a tricky operation, so the government of Los Cabos asked the Supreme Court for the annulment of the contract.

But the federal court issued a ruling earlier this year and ordered the city government to resolve this dispute.

The group Collective Resistance Pericu protest because the government of Los Cabos crossed hands and seeks to offer all North beach to the developer and throw away the traditional fishermen.

I just drove around there this past weekend, as time goes by one can see how the "privatization" of such beautiful place has been advancing.

they allowed a terrorist financier to buy a public beach?

Good grief, money is the root of all evil.

I hope the people win and throw this Khalid bin Mahfouz out.
