Queensland Flooding Will Upset Australian Economy

The flooding in Queensland will have an impact on Australia's economy, as farms and mines are swamped by rising water.

The threat to residents is not over yet, either, as the rain continues. Residents in Bundaberg, Rockhampton and Emerald remain at risk of either seeing their homes flooded or getting isolated by rising floodwaters.

Aside from stifling farm and mine output, the flood will cost a fortune to clean up as well as hamper the Australian economy, which survived the worldwide recession relatively intact.

Queensland Flood Video Footage Shows Extent of Damage

Video footage is hitting the web which shows the extent of the damage. Entire farms have been turned into swamps.

THE damage bill from Queensland's floods is set to exceed $1 billion, as the state premier rushed back from leave and almost 1000 people remained in evacuation centres.
