Lettuce is the easiest thing in the world to grow. You literally just throw the seeds onto the soil and keep most 'til germination. Then keep it watered every few days. Be sure to feed with an organic veggie/herb food every 4 weeks or so. In dallas, we grow lettuce October through June. Lettuce prefers cooler weather. Then, whenever you're hungry you can skip out to the garden and pick your lunch. Grow with other cool season herbs to use in homemade salad dressing. Growing your own means you always know where your food is coming from! Also grows great in a container in full sun.
