Favela Dona Marta, Rio, vista do meu prédio. Ontem o bicho pegou aí. De tarde, de noite , de madrugada. Quem merece? Eu não. Muito menos as muitas mulheres, homens e crianças, trabalhadoras e honestas que moram lá, a maioria, podem crer.
This is Dona Marta slum, in Rio, in the Botafogo district, near my home, where, in the last night and afterhours, policy and drug dealers were involved on a hard gunfight. I ask myself who deserves this. Not me, you bet. Not even the great majority of honest and working men, women and children that live there, pressed by poverty, caught between a bad life conditions and the fire of the guns. I love my country, but this is its ugliest face: the terrible unequal money distribution, that´s in the heart of troubles like these. And the saddest thing to think is that it´s a global problem. Progress for mankind is definitevely not a sign of equality and good conditions of living for the majority of people living in the planet. It´s very easy to see the way things are goin´ simply observing that the men that "rules" the Earth with very rich economical power and really poor sense of fellowship are not seriously thinking about this. For them is better keep on fighting no-reason wars, increasing his financial treasures and the rest, oh, boy , the rest is the rest. I hope that I am wrong and totally mistaken on my intuition, but I swear I think we are not heading for a beautiful future, as mankind.
Please, excuse me for my ugly english, but this is the real thing, for me and I have to say it. tks for the patience.
