The BBC has developed impressive miniature camera equipment that can be fitted on eagles and peregrin falcons to capture the vistas observed by eagles when soaring in the skies. The following includes a video documentary on what the BBC has developed, and applied in flight with a Golden Eagle.

This is truly amazing for those who are especially interested in environmental photography.

And the Scottish Highlands are beautiful too.

Since the beginning of time, people have envied birds. They can fly high over the world at will. For most of history, we could only dream of what that’s like. Of course, today we can just jump in a plane. But is that really the same thing?

What does it really feel like to fly with the birds? The BBC will show you. In Scotland, a Golden Eagle was outfitted with lightweight cameras. Then, it was set loose. You’ve never seen soaring like this. I guess we’ll have to keep dreaming.

Thank you Amy. I thought so too when I saw it and marveled at what we can now see on the backs of eagles with miniature technology.
