23 States Hit by Heat Wave

A record heat wave is sweeping the eastern United States. Temperatures are soaring above 90F, with the heat index making it feel like 115F in some areas.

The heat wave is expected to last for the rest of the week, as families struggle to keep cool.The worst of the high temperatures is expected to pass within a day, but the heat will linger until next Wednesday.

The heat has been rough here in OK. We've had record high temperatures (after record lows back in February). And in more anecdotal news, you see a lot of dry grass much earlier in the year than usual, and all my gardening friends are having trouble with their tomatoes.
