Over the past weeks, we have been spotting a bird of prey flying around. We know its 'special' because of presents in the sky.
The other week, I was watching a Wren flying around (from a roof window) when a large whoosh noise (less than a meter away from me) went down the side of the house (it was like someone swiping a stick in the air). Moments later this large bird of prey sat on the fence and looked at me. One second later it flew away. I think the Wren was okay. I wish I had my camera ready, but It was packed inside its bag. This all happened every quickly.
Another time, we saw two of these birds flying to together. The other was a browner colour, probably the female. So there could be an breading pair here!
Coming back from a shop today, my dad says he seen it again. I wait around for awhile. I start giving up on him returning, when I spot him. I quick rush to the camera and I only managed to get 1 shot of him, this one.
I will try and get a better shot, although he is hard to 'get' (especially with a 200mm lens).
I did think it was a Harrier Hen after it had gone for the Wren, however from this picture it looks like a Red kite? still not 100% sure.
PS. This is a WILD bird seen outside my own roof window!
