Here's a mother duck and her ducklings beside the Edgbaston Reservoir. It's a little 40 second video, but it's worth a look just to see all the ducklings twitch together.
It was filmed in August 2007 when the Reservoir was full from all the rains we'd had in he early Summer.
A good year for ducks!

Was this from after the flooding?

Birmingham wasn't really hit by the flooding. The worst of it the damage was to towns on the Severn river. The reservoir filled up round the time of the flooding and stayed full all Summer whaen it should have run down due to canal use by tourists (it feeds the canal system and we have an awful lot of canals in Birmingham)
Funny thing is that the reservoir was almost empty in Winter and Spring whem it's normally pretty full. Still, strange weather adds a little spice to the Brit's favourite topic of conversation!
