At 1AM Monday (Dec.22, 2008) morning a 40 acre ash pond at TVA's Kingston Steam Plant near Harriman and Kingston, Tennessee broke. This is the aftermath of that destructive force. Dozens of homes were damaged, but no one was injured. One fully loaded coal train was caught in the ash flow and the first priority in the clean up!
Thousands of fish were suffocated as a result of the ash filling the nearby lake and river.
