William Talen, also known as the Reverend Billy, is a performance artist and free speech activist who dresses and preaches like one of those fundamentalist Christian ministers who tend to be more fundamentalist than Christian. Talen's schtick is to preach agnist consumerism and urge people to bne more humble and austere in their ways of life. He rhetorically asks, "What Would Jesus Buy?"
I found him in New York's Union Square, which makes sense.
He was signing some kind of document involving the leftist rally going on there. I don't remember the details.
