LAVROV SAYS "BOTH SIDES" RESPONSIBLE, WHILE BRITS SCREAM FOR "ATROCITY PREVENTION" MILITARY ACTION AGAINST SYRIA

The Western governments and press whores are spreading the lie that the UN Security Council unanimously denounced the Syrian government as the responsible party in the Houla massacre.

Although the resolution has not been released, reports from Russia and Syria make it clear that the resolution denounces the government for the use of heavy weapons in residential areas, but specifically does not blame the massacre on the government.

In Moscow today, following a meeting between British Foreign Secretary William Hague and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Lavrov said that "There can be no doubt that the authorities used artillery and tanks," but added that "the guilt has to be determined objectively. No one is saying that the government is not guilty, and no one is saying that the armed militants are not guilty."

Lavrov said that "obviously both sides had a hand in the deaths of innocent people, including several tens of children.... It takes two to dance, but the current situation is more like a discotheque than a tango.... We are insisting on the carrying out of a probe into what happened in Houla.... We need to understand how this happened to make sure it will never be repeated.... We sense from our contacts that some other forces are not committed [to the Annan plan]. We support Kofi Annan's plan and they should do everything for this to succeed... There should not be external interference."

Hague, in the press conference with Lavrov, had to tone down slightly: "It's right, as Sergei Lavrov has just done, to call on all parties to cease violence, and we are not arguing that all violence in Syria is the responsibility of the Assad regime, although it has the primary responsibility for such violence." According to a paraphrase in the {Daily Telegraph}, he also said that "it was a familiar tactic for Syrian government forces to commit atrocities and blame them on other people." "Atrocities," of course, has a special meaning these days.

Fox News reported that Gen. Martin Dempsey used the term in response to a question about U.S. preparation for military intervention: "You'll always find military leaders to be somewhat cautious about the use of force," he said, "because we're never entirely sure what comes out the other side. But that said, it may come to a point with Syria because of the atrocities."

French President Francois Hollande blamed the massacre entirely on Assad, saying: "The murderous folly of the Damascus regime represents a threat for regional security and its leaders will have to answer for their acts," adding that France would host the next meeting of the British colonial front-group known as the "Friends of Syria."

RT EXPOSES BRITISH-FRENCH-SAUDI GUN RUNNING THROUGH SALAFISTS IN LEBANON

"Russia Today" ran a video report from northern Lebanon today, interviewing several Salafists bragging about their gun running to the Free Syrian Army on behalf of their British, French and Saudi sponsors.

RT reporter Maria Finoshina met with a weapons smuggler, showing the heavy weaponry they are shipping across the border and putting a price on each weapon.

Then Ahmed Abubarri, a Free Syria Army field commander currently receiving medical treatment in the north of Lebanon, told RT reporter Maria Finoshina that huge amounts of aid and arms pass through his hands across the border into Syria every day. "We have support from Syrian expats everywhere in the world," he says, "people from Britain, France, Saudi Arabia -- they also send us money, we buy weapons, walkie-talkies, satellites and smuggle them through the Syrian borders."

Sheikh Omar Bakri, a leading Salafist in Lebanon, is interviewed, describing their aid to revolts across Southwest Asia, and said they had issued fatwas to bring down Assad. No secrets.

CHINA: SYRIAN ESCALATION IS AIMED AT RUSSIA

China's {Global Times}, in an unsigned editorial, cuts through the massive lying in the West about the massacre in Houla, Syria:

"We urge the UN to declare the culprit soon. We believe only the claim of the UN is authoritative. Syria's government, opposition forces and the West are all interested parties and their claims should not be regarded as impartial.

"The UN should not ignore the Syrian government's argument. "For them, there is no incentive in scoring points from this tragedy. On the contrary, forces that are at odds with Bashar's regime can extend their claims on the issue....

"The country badly needs to restore order, but chaos is encouraged by external influences, particularly the West. To them, toppling Bashar's regime is a precondition to ending Syria's unrest, but this request defies the local reality....

"The West has concluded that the Syrian government was behind the tragedy last Friday. It obviously does not plan to be fair over the issue.

"The West is adept at using humanitarianism as an excuse to pursue its real political and economic motives. From the former Yugoslavia to the Middle East, this tactic has been repeatedly adopted by stoking political tension first, then launching a military offensive to oust a targeted politician or regime under the guise of a 'humanitarian' intervention.

"The killing may be used as an excuse for the West to further intervene in Syria. China and Russia should closely watch the UN investigation and reactions of interested parties. They must firmly oppose the hysterical escalation of interventionism.

"Washington has its global plan in dealing with the Syrian crisis. IT AIMS TO ISOLATE IRAN AND DAMPEN THE INFLUENCE OF RUSSIA." (ron)

BRITS DECLARE SINO-AMERICAN CONFLICT INEVITABLE

Singapore's {Straits Times}, the voice of the British banking outpost in Asia, ran a story based on a Fellow of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), London's leading strategic intelligence center, arguing that military confrontation between the U.S. and China is inevitable, despite U.S. and Chinese claims to the contrary.

"In their recent Strategic and Economic Dialogue," the {Times} writes, "U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo agreed that both countries should avoid the historical fate associated with a status quo power and a rising one."

Impossible, they rave. They quote IISS Fellow Christian Le Miere: On the one hand, China and the U.S. have sought to avoid direct confrontation. On the other, naval strategies by both countries have created a "pattern of nervous, ostentatious behavior" that could lead to miscalculation. Le Miere said that China is replicating Germany's 19th-century naval strategy of "fleet-in-being." This does not seek command of the sea, but cedes control to stronger opposition in general. The use of "anti-access, area denial" capabilities such as submarines and anti-ship ballistic missiles will inflict "unacceptable damage" on any naval forces sent to fight China's PLA Navy.

The U.S., Le Miere continues, is using a "fleet-in-dispersal" strategy which offers "strategic space" to a potential rival (that is, China) and protects its forces from the rival's reach. But these deployments, such as the basing of U.S. Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) to Singapore, can be used to control traffic through the strategic Malacca Strait and Asia-Pacific waters in general. So, the deployments are an "implicit threat" to China.

Perhaps not coincidentally, IISS is sponsoring their annual strategic "Shangri-La Dialogue" conference in Singapore in June. China's Defense Minister has announced he will not attend this year as he did last year, but the U.S. is sending a power delegation: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, and Pacific Command Commander Adm. Samuel Locklear. It is of note that Dempsey has repeatedly insisted that the U.S. must not be caught in the "Thucydides trap" in regard to China, of precisely the sort promoted by the IISS boys.

GERRY ADAMS MOBILIZES AGAINST AUSTERITY PACT

In a speech to the Sinn Fein National Convention (Ard Fheis) on May 26, five days before the May 31 Irish referendum on the killer EU Austerity Pact, Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams presented a searing indictment of the policies of the ruling parties, and called for a resounding "No" vote in the upcoming referendum. So far, polls tend to show the "Yes" ahead, but many are undecided--and the Irish have a way of creating surprises.

Here are excerpts from Adams' speech:

"Yesterday was Africa Day when that continent celebrated its freedom from colonialism. But today western powers haggle while 20 million people in the Sahel region of north Africa face a severe famine. Thus far the international community has not provided the money urgently needed.

"This Ard Fheis extends solidarity to the suffering people of Africa. We urge our government to do its best to encourage the international community to help the people of the Sahel. ...

"Everything is relative but in Ireland we also have our difficulties. "Over half a million are unemployed - almost 450,000 in this state.

"Many citizens cannot pay their bills or mortgages. "Youth unemployment is especially high, north and south. "I recently spoke to one woman who told me that three of her brothers, all married, left two weeks ago for Australia. Her distress was plain and is shared by tens of thousands of other families.

"The policies of Fianna Fáil, and now Fine Gael and Labour are responsible. "Forced emigration is one of the huge damning failures of this state. "Citizens are angry.

"Angry at the political and banking elite and the developers the golden circle that enriched itself through corruption, greed and bad policies. "Angry at the government for failing to hold these elites to account. "Angry at broken promises by Fine Gael and Labour not to pay one more red cent to bad banks and then handing over 24 billion. "Many citizens thought they were voting for change in last year's General Election. But what happened? Tweedle dum has been replaced by Tweedle dee and Tweedle dumber.

"Fine Gael and Labour were elected to change the disastrous policies of Fianna Fail leaderships. Instead they embraced these policies. "They have cut public services and wages. "Attacked the rights of the most vulnerable. "And introduced new stealth taxes. The household charge, water charges; septic tank charges; VAT and fuel increases. "What is the point of the Labour Party in this government?...

"My commitment to you this evening is that Sinn Féin will not make any promises we will not keep. When Sinn Féin makes a commitment as we demonstrated often during the peace process we keep our commitments. "We live in a great country. "Our history is replete with challenges, adversity and great injustice.

"But our people have come through it all. And in every generation brave men and women have come forward. ... "We have to follow their example, all of us and demand our rights as citizens. "The right to a job, to a home, to a decent health service and education, to a clean environment, to civil and religious liberties, and to top quality public services. "We have to break the cycle of austerity and inequality. "We need to get citizens back to work. "We need fair taxation. "We need to eliminate wasteful public spending. "And yes, it is crucial that we deal with the banking debt. "But these policies must be accompanied by a plan to get citizens back to work.

"And austerity won't do it. "In the North, the absence of fiscal powers and cuts by the British Tory government, have made the Executives task more difficult. "In this state the government gives fiscal powers away! "This state needs a government led job creation strategy.... "All citizens, throughout their lives, should have access to education at all levels based on their ability but the cost of educating their children is increasingly a challenge for many parents. Education must give children, all our children, the best start possible. That also is good economics. "A public health service, free at the point of delivery which provides for citizens from the cradle to the grave, and also funded by direct taxation, is good economics. The number of sick children awaiting hospital admission and on trolleys had increased by almost 700% in three years.

"In the first four months of this year 26,106 citizens were left on hospital trolleys. Almost 60,000 patients adults and children - are on waiting lists - a 50% increase on 2010. "After one year of this government the health service is worse now because this government is doing exactly the same thing as Fianna Fáil. And patients and their families are paying the price while those at the top award themselves obscene salaries and huge bonuses.

"Citizens need to stand together against this. It is wrong. It must be stopped. ... "Unemployment is driving young people to far off foreign shores. "In Leitrim I was told that half of those between the ages of 22 and 26 have left. The heart is being torn from communities as a whole GAA generation leaves for Canada and Australia. "In this state around 70,000 people are emigrating each year. {That's nine citizens every hour.} (emph. added) "Mothers and fathers wonder who will leave next. "Rural Ireland, and especially the west is being devastated. "Forced emigration is not a life style choice. But it is an indictment of the two men from the west who lead this bad government.

"Shame on you Taoiseach. "Shame on you Tánaiste. ... "I want to turn now to the Austerity Treaty. "When considering what way to vote, people need to ask themselves if the austerity of recent budgets led to jobs and growth? "The answer is obvious. The answer is no. If you accept that, you should vote No. "Austerity isn't working now and wont start working on 1st June. "Neither will it bring stability or certainty. "Austerity means more cuts. And increased charges. "Right now if you do not like the policies of the government you can sack them or re-elect them. You won't be able to do that with unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats in Frankfurt and Brussels.

"That is undemocratic. "Don't give up your power. "Don't give your democratic rights away. "And don't write austerity into the constitution. "Fine Gael, Labour and Fianna Fáil have not offered any positive arguments in favour of this Treaty. The Taoiseach wont even debate the issue! That's not leadership! That's not showing citizens the respect they deserve! "Instead Mr. Kenny, Mr. Gilmore and Mr. Martin are trying to scare people into voting Yes. "Whether it was British rule or a domineering church hierarchy, Irish citizens have had enough of being ruled by fear. We are done with that. "The Irish government is also out of step with the rest of Europe. Other EU states are delaying ratification because they know the mood in Europe is changing. "But not our government.

"They settled for much less than anyone else, despite Sinn Féin's clear warning about the foolishness of accepting this bad Treaty. When the Taoiseach endorsed it in the Dáil, he never mentioned growth or jobs. Not once! Or a write down of Bank debt. "The truth is Mr. Kenny and Mr. Gilmore are out of their depth. This Government simply cannot be trusted on this Treaty. "It claims we will be locked out of funds if citizens vote NO. That's not true! "The legal mandate of the ESM is very clear. Funding will be provided, and I quote, where it is indispensable to safeguard the financial stability of the euro area as a whole and of its Member States.

"So don't be fooled. Remember what Fine Gael and Labour said during the election. Remember all Fianna Fáil's promises. Don't be fooled. Be wise. "Join with the millions across Europe who are demanding an end to austerity. "It is a good and patriotic and positive action to say NO to a Treaty that is bad for you, bad for your family and community, bad for society and entirely without any social or economic merit. "Next Thursday. Vote No. "Irish people have the genius and the right to demand it. "In our time. "For all citizens, for all our communities. "So, now is the time for courage. "For commitment and patriotism. "For hope. "For all our children. "For our great country. "For Ireland."

BLAIR ACCUSED OF WAR CRIMES AND THIEVERY -- DENIES THIEVERY

Tony Blair, who is busy preparing wars on Russia and China while advising his puppy dog Obama on getting re-elected in order to wage those British wars, was heckled today by a man who managed to break through security at the Royal Courts of Justice, where Blair was testifying about his connivance with Rupert Murdoch.

The intruder screamed that Blair was a "war criminal," adding that "JP Morgan paid him off for the Iraq war. Three months after he invaded Iraq they held up the Iraq bank for $20 billion. He was then paid $6 million every year and still is from JPMorgan six months after he left office. This man is a war criminal!"

Blair is in fact a senior adviser at JPMorgan, reportedly paid between £500,000 and £2.5 million every year. Independently of that, he definitely is a war criminal, for instigating a preemptive war based on false intelligence.

Interestingly, when the hearing resumed, Blair chose to deny only the part about being a crook: "Can I just say for the record that what he said about Iraq and JPMorgan is completely untrue." I.e., proud of his criminal war record, but lies that he's "not a crook."
