Saguaro and Cholla

These three photos are work related. It is nice to get out of the office once in a while. We had a meeting with Park officials yesterday at Picacho Peak State Park. Picacho Peak provides motorists driving between Tucson and Phoenix one of only about two places to see relatively pristine Sonoran Desert habitat with large saguaro cacti. In the spring the park is painted in color by all of the wild flowers that bloom.

For those who are curious, the meeting was in regard to the proposed widening of I-10 which can be seen in the last two photos (in particular the middle photo).
