The reports of an earthquake in San Diego on Monday was not in fact an earthquake. San Diego was hit by a series of sonic booms.

Media Newswire reports the following

"The 911 system in San Diego was flooded with calls after the loud noise was heard but no reports of an actual earthquake could be verified.  The calls came in at 4 P.M. PST.

The incident was not the first time a sonic boom had caused some earthquake panic.  Reports show that in 2006 the same type of sonic boom off the coast of California could have possibly caused the same panic.  "

No one was injured in the Sonic Boom incident.
