Wildfires in Santa Clarita and Acton Are Threatening Homes in California

The Santa Clarita fire broke out around 1:30pm along Interstate 5 and the Acton fire broke out around 3pm.

Firefighters are currently battling the blazes, but about three dozen homes are currently being threatened according to KTLA News

The Santa Clarita fire has currently burned about 15 acres but it is not thought to be growing at this time.

The Acton fire is burning at Escondido Canyon Road near Hubbard Road and is threatening several homes; it is not known how big that fire is at this time.

There have been no evacuations ordered, but residents are being warned they may have to leave their homes if the situation gets worse.

Lines of firefighters are cutting a break through dry brush ahead of flames burning along part of the northbound side of the freeway.

Firefighting helicopters are also on the scene as well.

NBC Los Angeles reports that the temperatures in the region are currently in the low 80s with just very low winds, which is good news for the firefighters.
