Energy saving in Cuba has become an obsesion, since 1997.  Seeking energy efficency in the generation of electricity is one of the main results. In the middle of a national energy crisis, during 2004-2005 power cuts were very frecuent, making life very difficult. At present, power cuts have disappeared. An "Energetic Revolution" in going on and as part of it, more than nine millions of incandescent bulbs have been replaced by compact fluorescent lamps.
One of them, in the picture, is hanging from the ceiling in a Cuban "bohío", the traditional house in the Cuban farm.
