Sea plant that could save the world by LotusFlower

Salicorn is a delicacy in France, grown in the salt marshes and sold pickled in jars. Now an American atmospheric physicist claims it could play a huge part in tackling the world's environmental problems.

The crop is salicornia. It is nourished by seawater flowing from a man-made canal. And if you believe the American who is farming it, this incongruous swath of green has the potential to feed the world, fuel our vehicles and slow global warming.

Cannabis Sativa can save the world, oil, food, clothing, medicine, recreation, and it grows like weeds!  It saved America before, and it could save Earth now.

Growing hemp can prevent the rape of the forests for paper pulp. Bio-diesel and oils for human consumption are a byproduct, but due to some less than honest market manipulations in the 1930's laws were passed that were not in the best interests of the American people (sound familiar?) This situation show a basic weakness of a democracy, you know, that perfect system we are trying to force other countries to adopt! We are better to get things working right at home before we start shoving them up other peoples asses!

I suppose you know of a better system of government?  I can't figure out why more countries have chosen (not been forced) to change to some form of democracy than any other form of government in the last 30 years?  They must think democracy really sucks.  As of 2005, 64% of the world's states were democratic in some form.  About 50% of the world's states were a 'politically free' democracy.

Weed dude

Yea weed would be a much better alternative due to its higher amount of energy produced when broken down.

I wish the countries that have legal weed would show America that it can be used for more than just getting high. So far though, no examples. : (
