Seaside, Oregon Shark Attack Photos: Surfer Injured, Dec 6, 2011

A surfer was injured in what appears to be a shark attack in Seaside, Oregon on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.

Paramedics responded to a call at Seaside Cove and found an injured female surfer in the water. Two surfers helped bring the woman to the shore where she was treated by emergency workers.

Fellow surfers also tracked down the woman's surfboard, which appeared to have been punctured by a shark bite.

The woman was sent to hospital. The nature of her injuries were not revealed.

Local authorities referred to the incident as a "marine animal attack."
