After an evening of taking pictures in the Porter Ranch area I returned home to go through pictures and post them on my Flickr.com account. Here is a link to the pictures from Monday Night at around 8pm.

I decided to head back out to Porter Ranch to get some more pictures after I noticed from a block from my house that the fire had grown in size. I drove through the neighborhood of Porter Ranch on Resedea Blvd and turned down a side street and found a narrow road called Laughton Way which gave me a clear view of the fire.
I set up my video camera and then started taking pictures with my Nikon and watched along with neighbors and people who drove to the scene to see the fire. Flames were shooting up in the air just above very expensive homes just east of Porter Ridge Park near Omelveny Park.
There were many little fires and one of them that had been traveling from Porter Ridge Park started down the canyon towards Aliso Canyon Park and as it made its way down, neighbors gasped as the flames quickly rose about the homes that were lined up along the canyon on Laughton Way.
Fire fighters were stationed at the end of Laughton Way pouring waters on the homes and backyards as the Los Angeles Fire Department managed to keep the fire from burning the homes along the canyon wall. Neighbors were surprised and convinced that the homes were about to catch on fire but thankfully the people that own those homes will be able to return to them thanks to the determination of the men and woman fighting the blaze.
Fire trucks were driving back and forth on Senson Rd and up through the expensive homes with flames above them and also to the side as the fire crept closer around them. An LAPD squad car came down the hill from the end of Laughton Way after being informed that there were people watching the fire just off the road that looked over the canyon floor and turned on the police sirens and spotlights instructing everyone to leave the area. Ashes and smoke filled our eyes as we returned to our vehicles.
