Severe Weather Expected in New York, New Jersey
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for New York City (all five boroughs), as well as Nassau, Orange, Putnam, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties.
Thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain and hail, with the potential for tornadoes.
The storm system has already been moving through Ohio and Pennsylvania.

A tornado watch has also been issued in western Massachusetts, as well as in parts of Vermont and Connecticut. New Yorkers will be concerned about the ongoing lockout of 8,000 Con Edison workers: in the event of electricity outages due to downed power lines, Con Ed will have to figure out a way to get staff to the necessary locations quickly.
