Shark Attacks Shark in Queensland: Almost Bites it in Half: Video
A Great White Shark was caught on camera attacking another Great White Shark and almost bites it in half. This is raising alarm along the coast of Queensland, Australia, and authorities have warned swimmers to stay out of the water around Stradbroke Island as the giant shark, about 20 feet long, is still alive.
"It certainly opened up my eyes. I mean the shark that was caught is a substantial shark in itself," Jeff Krause of Queensland Fisheries told the Sydney Daily Telegraph.
The 20-foot shark attacked the 10-foot shark that was tangled in netting and in one bite almost bites the shark in half.
Great White Sharks have been known to eat their own kind, but local surfers and swimmers are scared to go swimming in the water just yet.
The smaller shark was caught in netting that is supposed to protect swimmers from violent predators, but some have said that whales, dolphins, and turtles can become trapped in the nets easily.
Shark hunter Vic Hislop also told the Courier Mail he "believes shark nets are too damaging to the overall marine environment, and that methods should be explored to scare away sharks rather than capture and kill them."
The government however, still insists the nets are a good thing and want to keep them in place.
