Should be Shrimp Boats - NOT Cruise Ships!

I took this picture while I was sitting on the porch of the historic William Joseph King House in Mayport, Florida.

Jaxport wants to put the Cruise Terminal here so that LARGER cruise ships can be used. Ones this size can go under the bridges further up river near the city, but they want even bigger ships!

You can see part of the chain link fence Jaxport installed all along the riverfront in Mayport to keep people out and most importantly keep the shrimpers from docking along there. Shrimping is the main industry of Mayport.

Anyway, it's a pretty picture but it means death for the historic town of Mayport.
