A snowstorm in Minneapolis and Detroit has caused havoc on the roads and winter storm warnings for the eastern and southeastern Lower Peninsula are still citing that roads will remain snow covered and slippery through tonight to tomorrow morning. About 2.6 inches have fallen already in the Detroit area.

About 14 inches of snow could fall in the area, and even the snow so far has caused a pileup on Interstate 94.

"We are getting reports of slide-offs and accidents," meteorologist John Kowaleski said from the weather service office in Grand Rapids, where nearly 3 inches of snow had fallen. "Some major highways have been closed."

Up to 12 people were injured in one accident, and authorities are warning people that if they don't have to travel it's best to stay home until this storm has passed over.
In Minneapolis there is still a snow emergency declared and again authorities are warning people not to go out unless they have to and to make sure the streets are clear of cars so that they can plow properly.

While walking back home with a camera in my hand, it started snowing heavly. The thought of having a camera in my hand made me decide to take a photo like this. It was an experiment!
