Solar Flare June 7, 2011 Photos, Video: Huge Solar Storm Pics
There Was a Big Solar Storm on Jun 7, 2011. Here Are Some Solar Flare Photos, Video
Early on June 7, 2011, there was a solar flare on the sun.
The Sun produced what astronomers refer to as an M-2 (medium-sized) solar flare, an S1-class (minor) radiation storm and a spectacular coronal mass ejection (CME) on June 7, 2011.
All that sounds really impressive and scientific, but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to appreciate the Solar Flare photos that have popped up online.
Should we be worried about the solar flare affecting the earth?
According to NASA, the solar flare is coming our way, but likely won't have much impact on us earthlings. Some communications satellites could be disrupted, but that's about it.
In addition to solar flare photos, here are some is a solar storm video from June 7, 2011.

Solar flares can have quite a disruptive effect on radio waves and such. We are entering a huge cycle of expected flares. I'm glad this one has been limited in it's effects, dispite the massive size of the flare. Beautiful, though!
