At least 10 people have died and an unknown number are missing after serious flooding burst banks, dams and bridges in Durban, South Africa.
Police and rescuers said cars had been swept away and buildings, even railways tracks were damaged.
At least six people have been confirmed dead while five others were missing in the torrential rainfall that battered the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) South Coast over the past two days.
Police rescuers said homes and businesses had been flooded, rivers had burst their banks, bridges had collapsed, cars had been swept away and structures, including railway tracks, had been damaged.
Provincial MECs are to visit the flood-hit South Coast in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday to get first-hand information about the damage caused to businesses and houses.KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Local Government Mike Mabuyakhulu will lead the delegation made up of MEC for Safety and Security Bheke Cele, Health MEC Neliswa Nkonyeni and MEC for Fianance Zweli mkhize, among others.
Emergency and rescue workers are hard at work providing relief to thousands of people stranded in southern KwaZulu-Natal by torrential downpours that have killed at least six people since Tuesday afternoon.

The major flooding seems to be south of Durban/Thekweni, in and around Port Shepstone.
I think this is an important story and would benefit from other NowPublic contributors working on it. I've flagged it as News Wanted and invite others in relevant locations to look for more evidence.
