Soylent Green Opening Sequence

Of course it’s all due to longer life expectancy that many more world citizens will suffer from Dementia.  The United Kingdom says there will be so many; the National Heath System will not be able to cope. This will be a problem to all such social care heath systems World wide.

Right what are these guys selling:

1.    Expensive research?
2.    Private Health insurance for the over 50s?
3.    New medications (mostly expensive I expect)?
4.    Legalize aided suicide?

Possible with the world getting so polluted and that we are thought to be beyond the point of no return. World governments can not get the industries to go green as it means the loss of profits.

Populations growing due to increasing life expectancies and religious indoctrination

I remember watching the re-run of the Soylent Green not so long ago about an over populated polluted world and the solution to the food problem. Legalized aided suicide well its being talked about by the British government today.  It’s also allowed to take place in Switzerland but of course the dead are buried or cremated and not used to flavor Swiss chocolate (sic).

This question of life expectancy prior to a G8 meeting about pollution control makes me think about how science fiction affects the thinking of the boffin’s in government think tanks.

The future global burden of Alzheimer's and other types of dementia has been underestimated, say UK experts.
A report from King's College London suggests more than 115 million people across the globe will suffer from dementia by 2050.
This prediction is 10% more than previous figures published in 2005, driven mainly by new figures from South Asia and Latin America.
The Alzheimer's Society said the data showed the "scale of the challenge".

They the boffin’s will of course advise the British Government about possible actions that could be taken concerning the Kings College report.  Now am I being paranoid about what could be an elitist plan.

What if the green house theory turns out to be factual and humans over populate this small pebble and die because of our own pollution. That's after many years of course destroying our normal food sources?  No fish in the sea and food crops shrive and we are only left with a dried up desert. After eating the cats and dogs and of course the dying rats, cannibalism could be the only answer on offer.

We need clean up our act even if the threat is not really such a threat, its simply logic common sense to look after this planet.

I wonder how nice Soylent Green could taste?

Let's hope not Bob. I remember seeing that movie when I was in High School some years ago. They had big back hoe scoopers shoveling up people and dumping them into a big dump truck where they hauled them to a factory to make these crackers made from the people they killed. Pretty terrible scenario, yet if I remember they stopped the factory, and stopped the killing of people. I don't remember the rest of the story...I just hope it never really comes to that...

Also ever see the movie The Children of Men?  Now that is a aweful movie to watch.. British made.
