Don't call 911 to ask about smoke billowing over San Fernando Valley, fire officials say: "Too many people are calling 911 asking questions about the smoke billowing over the San Fernando Valley, and the Los Angeles Fire Department is asking residents to stop calling that number unless there is an emergency. Huge plumes of smoke from the growing Station fire in the Angeles National Forest above La CaƱada Flintridge and parts of Altadena are visible throughout the Los Angeles basin, and the San Fernando, San Gabriel and Antelope valleys." -Rong-Gong Lin II | The Los Angeles Times | August 29, 2009
I didn't run and call 911 when I saw the huge plumes of smoke. I ran inside, got my camera and took pictures. :-)
