NP Rank:
Storm dumps more than 2 feet of snow in northern Minn.
The poor cowboys out there on the Iron Range! ;}
Although this is a serious weather story, I must admit that everytime I hear the words "Iron Range" I think of Da Yoopers and their song about the guy who wanted to be a cowboy on the Iron Range. Yes, yes, the snowstorm is originally reported from Minnesota, but the Iron Range is byond technicalities such as squiggly lines on a map. (In fact, Da Yoopers music was flown in space, thus proving that Yooper--and thus Iron Range--culture is inter-galactic.)
Back on Earth, school had to be closed in some places due to the snow.I-94 westbound out of Alexandria, MN is shut down. More snow and sleet is expected today.
Residents of the Iron Range and other parts of northern Minnesota can look forward to digging out from under 2 feet of fresh snow.
A spring snowstorm caused slippery roads and prompted the closing of Interstate 94 westbound out of Alexandria.

Thanks! I've been off shopping on Da Yoopers website. My birthday is coming up, some expletive awhile back stole my cassette of Jackpine Savage, and I am giddy with spring fever. I'm actually getting wistful for the UP and nearby Wisc/MN areas. Stop me before I head to the Soo!
