Strong quake hits Indonesia`s Sumatra

The epicentre of the quake, which struck at 7:19 am (0019 GMT), was located about 129 kilometres (80 miles) southwest of the city of Padang, at a depth of 20 kilometres, the Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics agency was quoted as saying by AFP.

There were no tsunami warning issued after the tremor.

The US Geological Survey clocked the quake at 6.2.
