As part of the International Day of Action on the Climate Crisas, residents of Surrey, BC modified a sign advertising the Gateway program. Light duty vehicles are already the largest source of ghg emissions in the lower mainland and the the Gateway program is projected to increase those emissions.

Two signs on either side of the Pattullo Bridge were modified.  The banner added to the signs reads, "CANCELLED, Funding Diverted to Transit Improvements by LiverSmater BC, www.livesmarter.bc 'helping the Province go green'"

The group also created a new website, www.livesmarter.bc, which parodies an official government program designed to help citizens reduce their ecological footprint.

So you support cowards rather then elected officials!

SFPR will reduce polution from trucks whom are currently impeded at every blocks. Those trucks will polute a lot less once the highway is built. I dont expect you to understand this but these are facts.

I dont like vandals, graphities idiots and hoodlums. They are a heavy drain on our fragile economy yet are likely to be dependent on the working class for basic nessesities.  Everythime a vandal destroys something my tax dollar has paid for I must pay for it again to fix it. Maybe that should be coming off your welfare check.

The majority of elected officials in Vancouver, Brunaby and on the GVRD board oppose this project.

There is NO evidence that SFPR will reduce pollution.  Research shows that building highways almost always, if not always increases pollution (see http://daily.sightline.org/daily_score/archive/2007/10/04/lanes-and-ghgs).  The provinces own documents on the Gateway Program admit it will increase pollution.

Many people would argue that the real vandals here are the ones destroying Burns Bog, farmland, people's health and the climate by bluilding this road.
