Many marine turtles feed on jellyfish. Discarded plastic bags, which can resemble jellyfish, are responsible for many turtle deaths. An easy way you can help turtles is minimising use of plastic bags and disposing of them properly. The NPWS is also keen to hear from members of the community who discover any turtle nesting or nests and ask that these nests remain undisturbed.

I was at Pounders on the North Shore. There were around 10 Green Turtles there, which seems to be pretty normal this time of year. I have no idea how anyone could hurt one of these, they're the most peaceful pleasant animal in the world.

Good story. When I was visiting the Big Island in Hawaii, there was a turtle on the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach and it was wonderful to see the children looking at it without touching or bothering it. Everyone was excited to see the turtles feeding on algae among the rocks. It is a shame that there is always someone who ruins things for everyone, often due to greed.

Turtle Bay was on our tour in Oahu. Brutus was on shore loving the attention. There was a rope on the ground the area humans should not cross. They said we could pass bacteria on to them that could potentially kill them.
Seeing the Sea Turtles was my favorite part of my vacation to Hawaii. Thank you to those who give their time to their survival.
