Taiwan Earthquake Shakes Taipei: 6.3 Magnitude Quake

Taiwan experienced an earthquake this morning which caused some shaking in Taipei. It was a 6.3 magnitude earthquake which struck about 18 miles south of Hua-lien and was only about 9 miles deep, which makes it very shallow.

No reports of casualties or damages have been issued so far and no tsunami warnings have been issued.

Light shaking was reported in the country's capital, Taipei. According to the Central Weather Bureau, the largest local intensity observed was in Haulien County with a 5.0 magnitude.
