Mom & Child Killed in Fast-Moving East Texas Wildfire

A fast-moving wildfire killed a 20-year old mother and her young child in Gladewater, east Texas.  The hot, dry summer has created ideal wildfire conditions, and high winds driven by Tropical Storm Lee have caused wildfires to move much faster than normal.

Texas has run out of resources to fight all of these fires. All of Texas is under a red-flag warning for wildfires. You can see eyewitness video footage of the Texas wildfires below.

Texas Wildfires Burn Homes, Force Evacuations

In Bastrop county alone, fires have consumed over 14,000 acres including half of Bastrop State Park. More than 300 homes have been destroyed. Firefighters have described the weekend as having the worst fires of the year, and it's been a heinous year for wildfires in Texas.
